Meiyoko Taylor Teaches How You Can Escape the Hustle

Meiyoko Taylor believes that everyone has the potential to transcend the constraints of societal norms surrounding the pursuit of happiness.

“The ‘hustle and grind’ mentality isn’t where it’s at,” Taylor stresses. And he has made it his business to champion the idea that you can craft a meaningful life without burning yourself out.

“A meaningful life – what is that?” Taylor queries. “It’s a life filled with purpose, freedom, and fulfillment. It doesn’t revolve around what ‘society’ tells you is successful. It’s not a predefined notion of ‘happiness’. In my coaching, I emphasize a life that truly aligns with your authentic self.”

This, he says, is the key to maximizing potential in every conceivable domain. But who is this visionary coach – and how did he learn what he knows?

“It was an evening painted in hues of despair,” Taylor recalls. “I remember the amber sunset’s light casting long, bleak shadows on the office walls. The picture frames felt cold, the piles of unattended files glared at me, and the ticking clock served as a stark reminder of time slipping away.”

At this time in his life, Meiyoko Taylor – though very successful in the traditional sense – felt like a prisoner of that very success. His mental health was held captive, he says, by the deadlines and demands of his fast-paced profession.

“Anxiety and burnout, like stealthy predators, had sunk their teeth into my sanity,” Taylor says. “My personal life was no sanctuary either – a series of unfortunate events had left it in shambles. My father, the best man I have ever known, had just left for his heavenly abode. The emptiness he left behind was profound and as cold as a winter’s frost. My relationships were straining, trembling on the brink of collapse. Amid the echoing silence of my home office, I’d often find myself wallowing in anger, my heart heavy with unshed tears.”

Meiyoko’s life – which seemed so triumphant, so successful from the outside looking in – was, he says, just a charade. “To the world, I was the poster child of accomplishment in my industry,” he shares. “But inside, it was a different story – one of desperation, defeat, and frustration with my life.”

He was no stranger to burnout. Any high-profile individual within the business world can sympathize with burnout. But this was something brand-new – and terrifying – and the death of Meiyoko’s father left a searing hole in his life. His relationships were crumbling before his very. This – he felt – was a battle far too great for him to conquer.

But everything changed with a call from his therapist.

“It was a Tuesday,” says Meiyoko. “It was a day of my usual prayer, dealing with so many different emotions and doing my best to just get through the day. The rain was pattering against the window. He looked at me through the screen, his gaze piercing, like he could see my turmoil. ‘You’re not managing your life,’ he said softly. ‘You’re mismanaging yourself.’”

And that hit Meiyoko like a ton of bricks. It wasn’t unanswered prayers. It wasn’t anyone else’s fault. For years, he’d been running a race, thinking he had everything under control. Suddenly, he realized what he never had before.

“I was on the wrong track.”

And that revelation started his journey into true, authentic self-care. Meiyoko began to finally invest time, money, and emotional energy into reinventing himself. It was a rocky path – but to Meiyoko, every step was well worth the effort.

“Today,” he shares, “as I sit in my home office, it’s a different atmosphere. The once ominous clock now stands as a testament to my well-managed time. The frames, once cold, now warm my heart with memories I’ve made, cherishing my life outside work. I cherish each day as a businessman, as a father, and in every way who I really am.”

He continues that he’s set firm boundaries that are designed to project both his personal space and his sanity – and as a result, the days of feeling helpless are gone. Being in control, Meiyoko says, lets you reclaim your time, your energy, and – more importantly – your peace.

“I’m now an active participant in my life, not just a bystander,” he explains. “With newfound energy, I’ve been able to give my best, not only to my work but to the people who matter. I’m present – not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too. I feel like a bird that has just discovered the joy of flight. The world no longer looks like an intimidating maze, but a land of endless possibilities.”

Now Meiyoko Taylor is dedicated to sharing this journey – every lesson he’s learned (the hard way), every stepping stone to happiness he’s discovered.
